A Treacherous Trek or a Beachside Escape, A Travel Wanderer Knows Best.

Unpacking the Story I have Lived

Hello people of the world, I am Sofia Dean, a travel enthusiast who loves to explore every nook and corner of the planet EARTH (at least only just the Earth for now). I have been on this journey of exploration for quite some time (2 years to be precise), and have never regretted it even for a second. Yes, I was someone who was at a tiring desk job for a long time. But everyone knew that I was not meant to be glued to a chair.

I can’t take complete credit or blame for this curiosity of mine. I am the way I am, all thanks to my Parents and Grandparents. Out of all the places on planet earth, my parents decided to pick the beautiful state of California to settle down. Every other weekend, I was either searching for leeches on my legs after a trek or crying about the sunburns after accidentally dozing off way too long. This is pretty much all the memories I have of my childhood days. So, last-minute packing, traveling, and unpacking did not seem like a once-in-a-year thing for me. In my little autobiography (my Journal), I called it ‘My Normal Life’.

As I got older, my urge to travel farther away grew. After completing my MS in Accounting (yes, I studied Accounts – which I’m not sure why at this point), I got a job that I disliked. I did travel often, but I knew that it was not my Ikigai. I am glad I talked myself out and started loading my trekking backpacks again.

Over the past two years, I have been hiking mountains, surfing on the blue waters, meeting new people, and getting to know new traditions. My journal and scrapbooks are getting filled with experiences I never thought I would live. And now I want to share my adventures with the world.

As I type this, sitting in a room with a gorgeous Mountain view, all I want to say is ‘If you love doing something, go ahead and do it.’
